How To Replace Casters on
Kamado Joe Carts

Frankly, the casters used on Kamado Joe carts are less than stellar. Within a few years, the tire crumbles and breaks off, leaving only the hub. (You can clearly see the problem in the photo above.) The Kamado Joe Facebook group is littered with posts about this issue and asking how to replace them with a better caster. Here's what you need to know when selecting a replacement caster:

We have provided Amazon links to some possible selections. The casters labeled "Cheap Casters" have been recommended a lot by people in the Kamado Joe Facebook group. However, we are skeptical because they use the same tire and hub construction as the lousy Kamado Joe casters. The casters labeled "Good Casters" are solid rubber wheels and should last forever. And finally we have provided a link to a set of metric thin wrenches that we have used. (You may also be able to find a single wrench if you don't want to buy a set.)
