Another question that gets asked a lot is (and we quote) "Can I use my MEATER/MEATER+ probes with the MEATER Block?" It seems that this seemingly simple question has two very different meanings to the people who ask it:
Using The MEATER/MEATER+ Probes At The Same Time As The MEATER Block
Yes, you certainly can use different MEATER products at the same time.
The MEATER App can support up to 5 Bluetooth connections, so if you have a Block and a MEATER+, for
example, you can go into the App and add the Block and add the MEATER+. The App will then show both devices
in the home screen and if you turn on the various probes, they will show as active.
Using Non-Block Probes With The MEATER Block
The question of using non-Block probes with the Block has popped up a lot more since MEATER started
selling the MEATER Block with the option of only two probes instead of four. With the four-probe
option being sold out, some users have thought they could buy a couple of the regular MEATER probes
and use them to fill the two empty slots on their Block. Other users have thought they could save
some money by buying the two-probe option and using MEATER or MEATER+ probes they already own to fill
the two empty slots.
Well, there are two distinct types of MEATER probes. Probes for use with the Block have a number from 1 to 4 etched into the square tip of the probe. Probes for use with the MEATER and MEATER+ do not have these numbers. These two types of probes are indeed different and the MEATER and MEATER+ probes will not pair with the Block.
