Cleaning The TipTopTemp™
You have probably seen pictures of tops for various kamado-style cookers showing how much grease/soot/gunk
accumulates over time. Well, the same is true of the TipTopTemp™. Regular use means regular cleaning.
Here is our version of the procedure recommended on the TipTopTemp™ web site:
- Boil a quart of water and add a small amount of Dawn dishwashing liquid.
- Invert the TipTopTemp™ in the hot water for 2-3 minutes.
- Using a toothbrush and scrubbing pad, lightly clean the surface of the TipTopTemp™ and coil.
- Rinse the TipTopTemp™ thoroughly and then dry the TipTopTemp™ thoroughly.
- Give the TipTopTemp™ a light spray of non-stick cooking spray to prevent rust.
The makers of TipTopTemp™ also suggest that you can place your TipTopTemp™ in the dishwasher. However,
be sure to remove it before any high heat drying cycle.
