We got some big chunks of wood here! We suspect this is mesquite due to it's origin (Mexico) and the amount of sparking when it burns. Probably 90% of the box was usable. Lump in boxes is a nice concept. You can stack them up in the garage. Also, shipping lump in boxes should protect the lump from being crushed and arriving in lots of little chips. A bit of the large piece wasn't converted totally to charcoal, but we think that's a small problem. Since this was one of the very first lump charcoals we reviewed, we didn't conduct all the tests that we now normally run.
