Commentary

This bag of carcoal was donated by Cleveland Charcoal Supply for our review. The charcoal is manufactured in Missouri, but is screened and bagged in Cleveland. The charcoal is you basic oak and hickory charcoal. It was easy to light (2 sheets of newpaper in our starting test) and had a nice pleasant oak and hickory lump smell. The only thing wrong with this charcoal is the large amount of unusable small chips and dust. This is probably the largest amount of small chips and dust of any lumps we've tested. There are so many other brands of lump available that don't contain such large amounts of unusable product that we give this lump our Average rating.

To the left is the rating that our readers have given this charcoal. If you have used this charcoal and would like to rate it and leave your comments, Click Here

This is the contents of the bag. Those are 1 inch squares on the measuring bar.

Here is a closer view.

Here are the larger pieces we found in the bag.

We found a couple of rocks in the bag.

Here are the contents of the bag sorted in large, medium, small, too small and chips/dust.
We consider the two piles on the left to be too small to really burn in a ceramic cooker.
This was a large percentage of the bag, far too large compared to so many other brands.
