The App
At the time of this review, Combustion has not released its full blown App yet. What they have released is a sort of a
place-holder demonstration App that can update the firmware, display temperature readings from the probes, and allow you to
do a simple cook by specifying a target meat temperature. Here is what the basic App looks like:
![]() 1. This is the opening screen where the App listens for probes to appear. |
![]() 2. Once they do appear, the probes will be listed on a screen that shows the core, surface and ambient temperatures. |
![]() 3. You can swipe left on any probe's readings and the App will show you its instant-read value. |
![]() 4. You can tap on the "Predict" button to be taken to a screen where you can enter a target meat temperature. |
![]() 5. Here you can enter a temperature and then tap on the "Begin Prediction" button to start cooking. |
![]() 6. That takes you to this screen where you are shown the progress of the cook. |
![]() 7. You can swipe left on the probe that is cooking to see the core, surface and ambient temperature readings. |
![]() 8. On any screen you can tap on the little flame icon at the top right of the display to be taken to the firmware update screen. |
![]() 9. We have already shown you the firmware update process that you can start from this screen. |
